Content Usage Rights Policy

Note
Pilot policy (v0.1). Not legal advice.

Overview

This policy describes the default content license model for pilot agreements on ElevateCSX and the common add-ons sponsors may request (paid usage, whitelisting, exclusivity). If an agreement specifies different terms, the agreement terms prevail.

Default license (if not otherwise specified)

Unless the agreement states otherwise, creators retain ownership and grant sponsors a limited, non-exclusive license for marketing use of the delivered content:

  • Scope: reposting and showcasing the content on the sponsor’s owned channels (website, social profiles, newsletters).
  • Territory: worldwide.
  • Duration: 12 months from approval (unless extended via add-on).
  • Paid usage: not included by default (requires an add-on in the agreement).

Common add-ons

Sponsors may request add-ons which must be explicitly agreed and priced:

  • Whitelisting / “spark ads”: running ads from the creator’s handle/account.
  • Paid media usage rights: using the content in sponsor-run ads (not from the creator’s handle).
  • Exclusivity: creator agrees not to promote competing brands for a period.
  • Extensions: longer duration, broader territory, or additional formats/edits.

Termination and removals

If an agreement is cancelled before approval (for example, non-delivery), the sponsor must not use the content and should remove any posted copies. If an agreement is approved, the sponsor may use the content within the granted license, unless a dispute resolution or legal requirement says otherwise.
