What a dispute is
A dispute is a request for manual admin review when the sponsor and creator cannot agree on delivery, quality, scope, or payment-related issues. While a dispute is active, payout and proof review are paused.
How the process works (MVP)
For MVP, disputes follow a simple workflow:
- A party opens a dispute and provides a short description plus evidence links.
- An admin reviews the agreement terms, proof, and submitted evidence.
- The admin updates the dispute status and leaves a decision note visible in the agreement.
- Once resolved/rejected, payout/proof review is unblocked according to the agreement state.
Pilot SLA: triage within 2 business days; final decision typically within 5 business days after all evidence is received.
Admin decision powers and finality (workflow)
Admins may request additional evidence, pause payouts, require revisions, or cancel agreements where appropriate. Decisions are final for platform workflow states (payout hold/release, cancellation, refunds where possible).
Evidence checklist
Provide as much of the following as possible:
- Campaign brief / agreed deliverables (what was promised).
- Links to the content (or where it should have been published).
- Screenshots or screen recordings showing the issue.
- Dates and timestamps (deadline, publish time, revisions).
- Relevant messages (negotiation, approvals, change requests).
Evidence by claim type (MVP)
Depending on the dispute reason, we may ask for additional evidence such as:
- Non-delivery: missing links, deadline proof, and revision requests.
- Scope/quality mismatch: agreed brief vs delivered proof with timestamps.
- Disclosure missing: screenshots showing missing/incorrect disclosures.
- IP issues: ownership proof or takedown notices (if applicable).
Outcomes
For MVP, admin decisions result in one of the following outcomes:
- Resolved — dispute is closed and the agreement continues. Admin may leave instructions or next steps.
- Rejected — dispute is closed and the agreement continues as normal.
Dispute fees
For MVP, ElevateCSX does not charge additional dispute fees.
