Payments Risk Policy

Pilot policy (v0.1). Not legal advice.

Overview

This policy explains how ElevateCSX reduces payments-related risk during the pilot (refunds, chargebacks, and payout holds). The goal is to prevent double-charges, stuck payouts, and abuse while keeping the creator–sponsor workflow predictable.

Refunds (MVP rules)

Refund options depend on the agreement state and Stripe processing constraints. If a dispute is open or a chargeback is filed, refunds may be paused until review completes.

  • Before proof submission: sponsors can generally cancel and request a refund.
  • After proof submission but before approval: refunds are not automatic and may require admin review based on evidence and agreement scope.
  • After approval / after payout transfer: refunds may be limited or unavailable. For MVP, refunds can be blocked after transfer to the creator.

Chargebacks and payment disputes

If a sponsor initiates a chargeback (card dispute), the related agreement may be frozen and payouts may be held. We may request evidence (brief, proof links, messages) to respond in the Stripe dispute process.

Payout holds and reviews

ElevateCSX may place temporary holds on payouts for risk signals (for example, mismatched identities, unusual volume, repeated disputes, or policy violations). Holds may also apply while a dispute is active.

Limits for new sponsors (pilot safety)

During the pilot, new sponsor accounts may have lower limits (for example, fewer concurrent funded agreements) until activity history is established. ElevateCSX may require additional verification before allowing higher volume.

Support and SLA

If you suspect a payment issue (stuck payout, wrong amount, duplicate charge) or need a refund review, contact support. For pilot incidents we aim to respond within 2 business days.
